At interplastica 2016, Wittmann Battenfeld will present an injection molding solution with latest clean room technology for the medical industry.
An EcoPower clean-room model will be demonstrated by manufacturing a tray for contact lenses from PP on an EcoPower 110/350. The parts drop freely onto the encapsulated clean-room conveyor belt from Max Petek Reinraumtechnik which subsequently transports them to a Petek laminar flow workstation.
In the design of the EcoPower equipped for clean room applications, special attention has been paid to the cleanness of the mold space, and to keeping the machine’s emissions to the clean room as low as possible, according to Wittmann.
For this purpose, the machine comes with the EcoPower “clean package”, which includes, among other things, a water cooling system for the entire machine with a closed cooling circuit, nickel-plated mold fixing plates, use of food-grade lubricants and a special detergent- and disinfectant-resistant coat of paint.
The machine also comes with a laminar flow box, a reject separator and the encapsulated clean-room conveyor belt installed below the clamping unit.
interplastica 2016 will take place from January 26-29 in Moscow, Russia.
