WACKER, the Munich-based chemical group, is restructuring its silicone elastomer distribution in Turkey. Starting September 1, SolPro, a silicones distributor, will be selling not only WACKER’s solid silicone rubbers but also the ELASTOSIL® M brand of RTV-2 Silicones. These are cold-curing, two component silicones made especially for use in mold making and rapid prototyping. The Istanbul-based silicone supplier will take over the distribution of this product portfolio from ULTRAKIM, WACKER’s previous sales distributor for these products in the region.
For some years now, SolPro has been a sales partner in Turkey for ELASTOSIL® solid silicone rubbers. These heat-curing silicones are used, for example, for fireproof cables, seals, profiles and O-rings. “So far, our cooperation with SolPro has been extremely good. The company has in-depth expertise in elastomers and has earned an excellent reputation as a silicone supplier,” said Dr. Bernd Pachaly, head of the Elastomers business unit, while explaining the decision. “While reorganizing our sales channels, we decided to entrust SolPro with the distribution of our RTV-2 silicones and specifically the ELASTOSIL® M product line as well. We are convinced that, together with SolPro, we can successfully strengthen and further expand our market position in mold making.”

RTV-2 silicones have diverse uses as sealants, adhesives, and as encapsulation and coating compounds.
