Vietnam’s rubber export price goes up slightly

he export price of rubber, according to source provided by Vietnam Rubber Association (VRA), reached US$1,400-1,500 per ton. The price increase could indicate recovered confidence in the global rubber market after the outbreak of the global economic crisis.

The current price level is about US$100-150 higher compared to the start of this year. VRA believes local suppliers can now enjoy profit margin of US$200-300 per ton.

China is a major importer of Vietnam’s rubber, the agriculture and rural department of Vietnam predicts rubber exported to China this year will reach 680,000 tons, totaling US$1 billion in export value.
