Tiprex 2013, the 4th Thai International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition, concluded on April 6 with a total of 6,200 visitors from over 41 countries showed up over four days.According to the organizer, domestic visitors accounted for 70% while major foreign attendees came from regional neighbors such as China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Yuttana Jiamtragan, Chairman of Plastic Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries, commented, “The plastics and rubber products industry is one of Thailand’s key secondary sectors in manufacturing, contributing about 2.5% of Thailand’s GDP. Tiprex represents a landmark trade fair for Thailand for both exhibitors and visitors alike as it is increasingly recognized as the country’s leading business platform for the region’s plastic and rubber sectors.

At the same time, it provides an excellent networking opportunity for Thai companies to enhance manufacturing standards and practices and for international companies to better understand the Thai market.” Held in conjunction with the trade exhibition, a series of seminars and training courses at Tiprex 2013 as well as other offerings from participating exhibitors had been organized. A key concurrent event was the 15th ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI) Council Meeting which is hosted by the Plastics Industry Club – the Federation of Thai Industries.

“Tiprex 2013 has succeeded as a stand-alone trade exhibition, not only in the number of exhibitors but in the strong visitor turnout particularly from overseas. This certainly testifies Tiprex’s position as the epicenter to ASEAN’s dynamic plastics and rubber industries.” Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia commented, “The show floor was alive with abundant business opportunities and sales transactions, with the unveiling of latest machines for the industry, most of which were sold on the trade floor. There were also many fruitful discussions that took place leading to the conclusion of some of the most lucrative business transactions. This is certainly a bonus for a local exhibition like Tiprex which is a platform that is created for the industry by the industry.”

Tiprex 2013 was the largest edition since its inception with a 25% increase in exhibitor numbers. 250 exhibitors from 21 countries participated in the trade show in Bangkok, featuring seven region pavilions from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. The next Tiprex will take place in September 2015.
