Thailand’s rubber wood industry is currently under great pressure that the total export of rubber wood is expected to reduce by 30% this year, according to a local newspaper.
The economic downturn has led to fewer demands from Vietnam, Malaysia and China. A local industry association chairman has urged rubber farmers to lower productions and traders not to over-purchase from farmers.
It is estimated that around 30% of rubber wood factories in Thailand will suspend operations before the economy improves.
