Starlinger Austria, one of the leaders in machinery and process technology for woven plastic sack production, recently announced it supplies
the equipment for the new facility that is setting up in the Industrial City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for United Accredited Company (UAC), a subsidiary of Alamoudi Group (MIDROC) based in Saudi Arabia.
The provided machinery includes a tape extrusion line, winders, heavy-duty and standard circular looms, as well as a printing line. The plant has taken up production in the first half of 2011 and produces different types of flexible packaging, the main product being flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC).
The product portfolio also includes flexitanks, container liners and small size bags to cater to the respective industries. In order to comply with the highest quality standards, UAC has purchased a Starlinger FIBC test rig for their own laboratories to check the quality of the fabric and the converted big bags. For optimized waste handling and material use, in-house waste will be recycled on a recycling line also supplied by Starlinger.
The UAC flexible packaging manufacturing facility is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 300 people and will have a production capacity of more than 1000 metric tons per month (PP and PE) in phase 1. The company strategy is to continuously increase the production capacity within the first year, and to start up production facilities in other countries.
