Visitors to Sea World will no longer have to grapple with the question…plastic or paper. Sea World is marked Earth Day with the announcement that it will no longer use plastic bags
in the park. Officials at the aquatic park have decided to stop giving out plastic bags by June 18th. They figure they will will cut back on plastic pollution in ocean by up to a million bags a year. Merchants will now offer customers paper or reusable sacks.
The change in policy coincides with the opening of the parks sea turtle exhibit. Environmentalist say the sea turtle population has been affected by plastic bags floating in the ocean. They resemble jelly fish which sea turtles eat.
There’s also the concern with the gathering mass of plastics accumulating in the ocean.
