Engel is offering a scrapping premium as a discount on new injection moulding machines. Customers who replace an old machine with a new Victory, E-Victory, E-Max, E-Motion or Duo Pico machine will get a Eur 3,010 credit against the purchase price on providing proof of scrapping an equivalent machine from any manufacturer, or of passing the machine on to a used equipment dealer. The scrapping premium applies worldwide, and the premium on selling to a dealer applies in Europe.
Engel says that while the current economic situation may cause companies to cut costs by saving on capital expenditure, keeping an older machine running brings additional costs, including the cost of higher energy consumption than on a new machine. So it has introduced its scrapping premium as an incentive for companies to help themselves to save money.
