The Ross Solar Group has finalized an agreement with Jetro Cash & Carry Enterprises for a 1.56 Megawatt commercial solar installation at their new facility in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. The record setting installation, comprised of 4,760 Sunpower high efficiency 327 watt panels, will be the largest single roof top commercial installation in New York, and is expected to be completed by July of this year.

“We are thrilled to partner with such a well-respected national company like Jetro on this project,” said Ross Solar Group’s Director of Commercial Sales, Robert Kline. “Everyone at Jetro and Ross Solar worked extremely hard to make this happen, and it was truly a team effort, resulting in a win-win, not only for Ross Solar and Jetro, but also for the community, the city, the state, and the environment.”

Ross Solar Group’s partnership with NYSERDA, through their RPS Site Tiered program PON 2156 and PON 2484 grant awards was a key component of the agreement, as was Con Edison’s cooperation in proposing a smart grid solution that will permit the “spot network” grid tied system to seamlessly export electricity back to the grid.

Family owned and operated by Joshua and Jason Ross, Ross Solar Group, was named Sunpower Commercial Dealer of the Year in 2011, and was recently awarded the Sunpower Intelligent Design Award for their work on a 347,000 watt installation at North Shore Community College in Danvers, MA. Ross Solar Group completed installations in 2012 for Walmart in Newburgh, NY, as well as four separate Bed Bath and Beyond locations in NJ, and was ranked #48 on Solar Power Work’s Top 100 Solar Installers list.
