Rampf Dosiertechnik to build extension at Zimmern site

The Rampf Group, a Germany-based supplier of system solutions for plastics processing, announced on September 7 that the company

signed building contracts for an extension to be built at the original Zimmern, Germany plant on August 23.

The building is for Rampf Dosiertechnik GmbH & Co KG, a manufacturer of low-pressure mixing and dispensing systems, the company said. “As Rampf Dosiertechnik has been ‘bursting at the seams’ for some time now and its order books look healthy right through to the next financial year, we decided the time was right to build plant II,” explained Matthias Rampf, CEO of the Rampf Group.

The new building, which is scheduled for completion at the end of March 2012, will create a useful area of around 4,200sq m. “This will enable future growth, secure existing jobs and create new ones. In the last few months, we have increased our headcount by more than 10%,” said Bernd Faller, Managing Director of Rampf Dosiertechnik.

This expansion will provide space for a new logistics and service center, additional application engineering activities and a specialized contract manufacturing facility, according to the press release. The expansion will cost around 3 million euros. Construction is scheduled to start by mid-September at the latest.

As with the construction of the innovation center at the Grafenberg site, the headquarters of Rampf Giessharze and Rampf Tooling, the roof of the new building is to be equipped with a 108kW photovoltaic system, the company stated.
