Nordson Aligns All Melt Delivery System S Under The Bkg® Product Brand Name

German Facility Will House Sales, Engineering, Production, and Aftermarket Services for BKG® Pelletizers, Melt Filtration Systems, Gear Pumps, and Valves

MÜNSTER, GERMANY, August 8, 2016: Nordson Corporation’s BKG® product brand, well known around the world for underwater pelletizer systems, is now also the group brand name for the company’s diverse range of polymer melt delivery equipment, including filtration systems, ovens, gear pumps, and valves.

Now included under the BKG brand are melt filtration systems, gear pumps, and valves previously offered under the Kreyenborg brand, plus screen changers, ovens, and gear pumps previously sold under the Xaloy® brand.

The melt delivery system business that Nordson acquired from Kreyenborg in 2013 will be moved from its existing facility in Münster and combined with the nearby BKG pelletizer business. Nordson will expand its operations in Münster to approximately four times the current size to optimize production and accommodate future growth.

The new brand names for the polymer melt delivery equipment will be as follows: BKG® HiCon™ Filtering System for self-cleaning systems; BKG® NorCon™ Screen Changers for continuous and discontinuous screen changers; BKG® BlueFlow™ for gear pumps; and BKG® HyFlex™ for valves.

The Xaloy product brand will continue to be used for Nordson’s screw and barrel products for extrusion and injection molding, and European operations for this product family will continue to be headquartered at Neckarsulm, Germany with operations in Pirmasens.

“The expansion in Münster is part of a substantial global investment by Nordson in its polymer processing range of products, including other expansion projects and investments in Europe and China, a buildup of the support team around the world, and innovations for each of our polymer product families,” said Nordson Corp.

senior vice president John J. Keane. “Our goal is a seamless worldwide operation that is at the same time highly localized, providing ground-breaking products and rapid service to customers whenever possible in their own time zones and languages.”

The scope of Nordson’s investment program will be evident at the larger Münster facility, noted Godfrey M. Sandham, vice president responsible for the polymer products business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. “We will be adding advanced engineering and manufacturing systems, a new warehouse and inventory system, a dedicated aftermarket section, and an expanded technology center,” said Mr. Sandham.

“This project will increase our support for customers throughout the world by expanding our capabilities for manufacturing, processing trials, startup assistance, technical service, spare parts, and refurbishment of all Nordson melt processing equipment.”

At the upcoming K 2016 plastics show, Nordson will disclose several currently unannounced product innovations involving the BKG, EDI, and XALOY product brands.
