There is a new name in biopolymers – or rather a new old name. Australian producer Biograde, which opened its doors in 2002, has rebranded as Cardia Bioplastics following its acquisition earlier this year by Cardia Technologies, a technology investment company.
Although its headquarters are in Melbourne, the manufacturing plant and product development centre are in Nanjing, China. Cardia Bioplastics also has offices in Germany and the Americas, and a network of distributors across Australia, the Americas, Europe and Asia.
The company makes blends of bio-sourced thermoplastics and polyolefins, biodegradable polymers with compostibility certification to EN 13432, ASTM D 6400, Japan’s GreenPla, and Australia’s AS 4736, and a range of finished goods such as bags and film.
