JSW America to run all-electric presses in 4 work cells at NPE

Japan Steel Works (W1561) America, a supplier of all-electric injection molding machines, will demonstrate at NPE2024 how its technologies can help molders achieve greater sustainability in their operation.

The Ontario-based company will feature its JADS series of all-electric presses in work cells that showcase innovations for maximizing productivity, according to Dale Bartholomew, JSW America national technical manager.

“We’re very excited about our demos at this year’s NPE,” Bartholomew said in a news release. “Each one will show how our JADS series of all-electric injection molding machines can help customers increase energy efficiency, reduce material waste and maximize productivity, ultimately enabling them to positively impact sustainability.”

JSW America and its industry partners will demonstrate:

  • Large-part molding cell with a 650-ton J650ADS all-electric press producing desk partitions. The company said the machine is energy-efficient and ideal for molding large parts for the automotive and appliance markets.
  • Canon shuttle mold system cell featuring technology running two molds in one cycle. A 350-ton J350ADS machine will make two different parts — a pair of etched shot glasses — in a cell that maximizes productivity in minimal floor space.
  • High-speed packaging cell showing a 350-ton J350ADS Ultra-Spec packaging machine integrated with a Campetella high-speed robot that accelerates production of containers. It is also equipped with Imflux processing software, which makes automatic adjustments to maintain part quality, weight and dimensions.
  • Medical cell with a 100-ton J100ADS machine integrated with Imflux processing software molding medicine dosage cups and similar components in clean room applications.

In addition to the Canon Shuttle Mold System and Imflux software, JSW’s partners at NPE will feature technologies from Campetella Robotic Center, Frigel North America, Hot Runner Technology, Kosmek USA, Maguire Products, Matsui America, Sterling Plastics, Ultra-Poly Corp. and Yushin America.

Founded in 1978, JSW America is a subsidiary of Japan Steel Works Ltd. (JSW Japan), which has been building plastics processing machinery for more than 60 years. The company offers a full line of all-electric presses from small to ultralarge models.
