Huntsman Polyurethanes will promote its range of high performance, polyester-based IROGRAN® thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) for injection molding applications when it exhibits at Fakuma 2012 – the international trade fair for plastics processing. With solutions available from 70A to 65D Shore hardness, Huntsman Polyurethanes has an IROGRAN® polyester grade to suit a wide variety of plastic engineering projects.
Designed for processing on standard machines and compatible with a range of color master batches, high performance IROGRAN® TPUs are particularly popular in the manufacture of thick walled technical parts where short cycle and fast demolding times are required. Central to the high performance IROGRAN® TPU polyester grade range is IROGRAN® A 70 E 4675 – a soft, versatile, engineering material with outstanding bond strength to a wide range of substrates. Easily processed and with an exceptionally short cycle time, IROGRAN® A70 E 4675 is used in the production of cable bushings, plugs, wheels and castors.
It works well as a material for the handles and grips of tools. And it is also widely employed across the automotive industry in the manufacture of over-molded items such as remote control car key fobs, sheets for dashboards, door and side panel cladding systems, and gear stick knobs.
Other product characteristics include good mechanical strength, the ability to perform at a wide temperature range and excellent resistance when it comes to general wear and tear. IROGRAN® A 70 E 4675 bonds extremely well to a range of other plastics, has good elasticity and provides a rubber-like look and feel.
