Great Lakes Solutions, a subsidiary company of US-based Chemtura Corporation, will present its Emerald series flame retardant at CHINAPLAS 2012.
According to the company, Emerald product series is a greener line for applications in electronic components, electrical enclosures and for insulation of building products, etc. “We are pleased to offer four new, innovative flame retardants to serve global customers in the electrical & electronics and building & construction industries with high‐performing, greener solutions,” said Great Lakes Solutions President Anne Noonan.
Products to be exhibited include:
Emerald 1000 – a sustainable, versatile, new polymeric flame retardant for styrenics, polyolefins and textile backcoatings. It is said to be an efficient, sustainable replacement for decabromodiphenyl ether requiring little to no reformulation or process changes.
Emerald 2000 – a new flame retardant curing agent for non-halogen printed circuit boards.
Emerald 3000 – a sustainable, high-performance, brominated polymeric flame retardant for polystyrene foams used as energy-saving insulation materials for buildings.
Emerald NH-1 – a halogen-free flame retardant for both automotive and furniture flexible polyurethane foam applications.
In addition, Great Lakes Solutions will organize a technical seminar at CHINAPLAS on approaches and challenges in designing more sustainable and high performance flame retardants. New application research and data on Emerald series will also be covered.
