Gerresheimer technical moulding business is sold

Gerresheimer of Germany, whose core business is in pharmaceutical and life science glass and plastic products, has sold its non-core technical plastics business.

The business, which was put up for sale last year, was part of the Wilden company bought by Gerresheimer at the beginning of 2007. It has been bought by FBH Group of Germany, which owns Thermoplast Technik Beteiligungs-AG, a moulder with five plants mainly supplying the automotive industry.
     The former Gerresheimer business has plants in Germany, the Czech Republic and Mexico also supplying the automotive industry and employing around 430 people. Turnover of the business, which includes tooling manufacture, was Eur 74 million in 2008. FBH is paying Eur 12 million including debt.
