The start of German manufacture of the Chinese Zhafir all-electric injection moulding machines has taken a step closer with a topping out ceremony at the factory under construction at Ebermannsdorf in Germany.
Investment in the site is around Eur 10 million, and the 4,300 m² production hall has been under construction for 3 months.
Zhafir Plastics Machinery, part of Haitian International Holdings, is planning to build the Venus series machines for European sale at the German plant. At present the Venus is built at Ningbo in China and Zhafir says it has sold 130 machines in more than 20 countries – and that order books for the machine are full.
The next generation of electric machines from Zhafir, the Mercury Series aimed at high tech applications, has been under development since 2007 and has now started field testing. The plan is to put it into production in Germany and release it for worldwide sale at the K2010 exhibition.
