In a latest development in the field of plastics and plastic related material manufacturing one of the renowned names in the field of packaging Albea Group is all set to start its new operational unit in Suzhou, China. The main goal behind the expansion is to make a strong foothold in the Chinese peninsula where the company is struggling to meet the growing demand of the consumer.
The expansion will not only help them create a strong presence in this region but will also enable them supply the quality that the industry is looking for. According to the company the expansion will be spanned around 30,000 square meter of land and it will be the only site that will be housing complete scope of its core expertise, including tubes, cosmetic rigid packaging. With this facility the unit will be able to manufacture mascaras, lipgloss, compacts and bottles — and dispensing systems, each in a dedicated building.
According to reports from various sources Albéa Packaging (Suzhou) is a highly automated plant with integrated decoration and assembly capabilities. According to reports the unit will be giving employment to 800 people which may increase in the near future. According to sources it was a challenging task to accomplish the complete set-up of the unit that incurred around $14m (€10.2m) to a challenging 15-month schedule. However, with the assistance of people, industry experts and their stakeholders they could make it possible and the unit is now successfully working with the assistance of 800 professionals.
According to reports the unit was set-up to manufacture and develop world’s largest range of beauty and personal care packaging, with leadership positions in plastic and laminate tubes, mascaras, lipsticks, samplers and foam pumps; and recognised expertise in fragrance and skincare dispensing pumps, fragrance and lotion caps, compacts, lipgloss, promotional items and accessories.
It is important to highlight here that the company is an affiliate of US-based private investment firm Sun CapitalPartners, Albea that has 38 manufacturing units in the Europe, Asia and the Americas. All these facilities employ 16,600 work-forces. The global sale of the company totaled to $1.5bn (€1.09bn).
