In Brazil, one polypropylene producer reported stable prices for the domestic market until the end of the June but said some increase are expected next month.
“We are going to have an increase in PP prices for the Brazilian domestic market in July but we still don’t know how much the increase is going to be,” said the source. PP was being commercialized this month in Brazil at Reals 3,250/mt CIF homo raffia and injection, Reals 3,300/mt CIF film, Reals 3,330/mt CIF clarified, Reals 3,350/mt CIF impact and at Reals 3,550/mt CIF random (prices without pis/cofins). Export PP offers from Brazil to Europe (Portugal and Spain) were heard this week at $970-1,030/mt FOB homo raffia and injection while prices to Latin America (Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia) were pegged at $1,020-1,070/mt FOB. PP plants in Brazil were operating at 100% of capacity this week.
