Showcasing an extensive range of new products, SIMONA AG, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of thermoplastics, presented itself as an innovative supplier of polymer solutions at this year’s K 2013 trade fair. Incorporating multimedia pres-entation systems, the exhibition stand attracted significantly more trade visitors that at K 2010.

Kirn, 28/10/2013. SIMONA AG managed to expand its trade fair contacts by almost 40% compared to 2010, a significant increase despite the fact that the world’s largest plastics trade fair – staged in Düsseldorf/Germany – attracted fewer visitors than the same event held in 2010.

Introducing a modern, multimedia-based concept for its exhibition stand, SIMONA AG presented itself as a high-end development partner for plastics. Focusing on the key topics of safety, efficiency and sustainability, the Kirn-based company showcased several new products with the help of digital content and product exhibits.

Within the area of sustainability, SIMOWOOD sheets made of Re-systa® – a material based on rice husks – were of particular interest to visitors. Boasting a wood feel and appearance, this product is manufactured without having to fell a single tree. SIMOWOOD ab-sorbs hardly any water and combines the processing properties of wood and plastic. Conversations with trade visitors to K 2013 re-vealed a wide range of potential applications for the extruded sheets in the furniture, construction and leisure industry.

The company also received excellent feedback from visitors, par-ticularly at an international level, with regard to the third generation of SIMONA® Twin-Wall Sheets, the new double-containment piping system SIMODUAL² and the new SIMOLIFE product range for or-thotics and prosthetics.

“Our exhibition stand at K helped to capture the essence of where we are heading as part of our strategic realignment. We have shown an international audience that SIMONA, with its extensive range of processing methods, is a high-calibre partner in the field of plastics. The focus was on innovation and exceptional expertise in thermoplastics consulting,” says Wolfgang Moyses, CEO of SIMONA AG, in summing up the company’s activities at K 2013. “Our concept clearly hit the mark. Our K team was international, technically savvy and extremely well prepared. The trade fair was a tremendous suc-cess. We are particularly delighted by the significant number of first-time contacts, the high proportion of international visitors to our stand and the quality of the dialogue,” says Moyses.

Bringing together more than 3,200 exhibitors, K 2013 – a highlight within the plastics industry – attracted almost 220,000 visitors to Düsseldorf from Germany and abroad. All product themes of K 2013 can be accessed online: www.simona.de/k2013
