Davis-Standard’s new manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, has officially opened. The facility’s management team and plant operators are in place with construction inside the building nearing completion. “I’ve worked in China for 12 years, so I can confidently say this was a benchmark project. The decision to open a facility was made in February, and we’re up and running seven months later,” said Davis-Standard CEO Bob Preston.

“The outstanding coordination between our Asia Pacific and US teams as well as the Chinese government made this possible. Expanding our regional capabilities is something our customers are requesting. I promise you, we’re listening.”

The new facility in Suzhou will support sales, technical support, equipment production, aftermarket and service programs, and start-up operations. It will also feature research and development equipment for customer trials. “Fred Pereira, our president of Asia Pacific, is doing an excellent job of aggressively expanding our regional world class capabilities focused on customer care,” added Mr Preston. “Our customers in this region and throughout the world deserve nothing less than our best effort. We have the utmost confidence in Fred and his staff as they establish this location and spearhead our growth in the region.”

Davis-Standard, LLC is a global supplier in design, development and manufacture of extrusion systems, feedscrews, barrels and process controls for the flexible web converting, plastics processing and rubber industries.
