Chinese customers impressed by KraussMaffei products and services

The first Tech Day held on April 28 and 29 from plastics machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei took place in Shanghai attracted around 130 customers,

providing firsthand information on new developments at KraussMaffei in plastics processing, especially for the automotive and construction industries.

The event began with several specialist presentations on new applications and processing techniques for the automotive sector. Topics covered included production of lightweight elements, innovative tooling technologies, SkinForm and C.A.S.E. applications. Later in the day, visitors could view the latest KraussMaffei systems and equipment in operation in the company’s TechCenter. Magnets for visitors were systems for back foaming components, such as instrument panels, and innovative scoring and routing cells. Other exhibits that attracted a great deal of interest were a wealth of sample products and systems for machining molds. The first day ended with a boat trip along the river with the impressive Shanghai skyline in the background.

The focus of the second day was on innovative products for the construction industry. The speakers covered topics such as novel building materials and how to manufacture them, for instance sandwich panels for prefabricated homes. KraussMaffei experts from the lamination team talked about the extensive range of production systems which can be used to make a great diversity of panels. Examples of the huge range of panel types, their many uses and the corresponding KraussMaffei manufacturing systems were on display.

“Judging by the enthusiastic interest of our guests, the Tech Day was a resounding success,” said Kun Wu, Sales Manager Asia at KraussMaffei. “It was an opportunity for them to get fast, compact, but also comprehensive, information about what’s new at KraussMaffei. At the same time, it has led to many interesting, new projects for us.” Based on this positive response from all sides, the Shanghai Tech Day is already planned in as a fixture for next year.
