Baiyin, a city in Jiangsu Province of China, has announced the successful development of proprietary technology to mass-produce polycarbonate (PC).
The project is supported by the municipal government, the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China North Industries Group Corporation, with investment amounted to RMB21 million. It takes more than two years to build pilot equipment with capacity to produce polycarbonate with annual production volume of 500 tons.
Polycarbonate is a high performance engineering plastics used widely in aerospace, automotive, E&E and national defense industries.
