New products included improved thermal stability 30% glass filled Vydyne R530HT, “Electrically Neutral” 35% glass filled Vydyne R535EN, as well as glass and mineral filled Vydyne R860 based on post-consumer recycled (PCR) feedstock.

“These new grades provide superior performance in the areas of heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance, calcium chloride resistance and electrical properties,” said Philip Jeszke, Ascend Automotive Global Segment Leader. “They have been well received during molding and testing trials and are sure to improve processing potential while also allowing our customers to meet the demanding automotive industry requirements.”

The grades were developed to meet global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements for radiator end tanks, charge air coolers (intercoolers), fans and shrouds, under-hood connectors and other applications.

“We have several grades under development that are set to launch later in 2013,” said Mr Jeszke. “Our new products, coupled with Ascend’s strong integrated manufacturing base using a propylene feedstock, provide our automotive customers with the security of supply, quality and consistency required to be successful.”
