Akron Rubber Development Laboratory, Inc. Offers Technical Training Courses to Address Industry Skills Gap and Other Industry Challenges

ARDL has expanded its technical training programs, workshops, webinars and educational outreach initiatives to assist customers and the industry as a whole by providing tools for today’s young professionals and veteran industry workers alike.  As many in the elastomer industry know, technical expertise is critical but also declining as highly skilled professionals retire. It is increasingly difficult to find qualified candidates to replace those retiring and ARDL understands the importance of retaining and developing qualified technical employees. With these goals in mind, ARDL is proud to announce an expanded training and educational program and has included a 100-person training center in the design for its recently-opened 136,000 square-foot laboratory.

ARDL has a full staff of experts in the rubber, plastics and testing fields available to provide training on a variety of technical topics. The company can accommodate custom training requests as well as travel to customers’ facilities to provide on-site workshops. Courses may also be completed through web-based e-Learning with ARDL instructors. The comprehensive courses run from 30 minutes up to 3 days and course topics may be combined in a variety of ways. Topics include: Basic Rubber Compounding, Compound Design, Problem Solving and Failure Analysis in the Rubber Industry, Adhesion, Analytical Chemical Testing of Rubber, Anti-degradants for Rubber, Basic Dynamic Viscoelastic Properties Review, Dynamic Viscoelastic Properties Review and Effect of Rubber Compound Ingredients, Elastomer Polymer Chemistry, Fillers: Non-black and Carbon Black, Intermediate to Advanced Compounding and Testing of Rubber, Plasticizers and Process Aids, Processing and Plant Warehousing, Rubber Compound Design, Testing, Warehouse Storage and Useful References, Vulcanization and Curing Chemistry.

ARDL is an ISO 9001:2015 registered, A2LA ISO 17025 accredited, independent testing, development and problem-solving laboratory for all facets of the rubber, plastics and latex industries.
