Frankfurt, Germany, September 5, 2012 – The OE-A is growing worldwide. Additional new members are underscoring the role of the association as a leading international organization representing organic and printed electronics. The OE-A welcomed Belgian company Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V. as its 200th member. “For a corporation that is internationally active and an end-user in pharmaceuticals and medical technologies, the global network of the OE-A is the ideal platform for cooperation for us”, explains Eric Snoeckx, Director Open Innovation & Networking, Janssen Pharmaceutica / Johnson & Johnson, Belgium.
Organic and printed electronics – thin, light, flexible and robust – enable numerous novel applications in health care, from smart packaging, which assists patients with administering medicine and drug dosage, to single-use diagnostic devices. Or even
intelligent bandages that monitor wound healing.
OE-A‘s Eighth Year Confirms Association‘s Success At All Levels

The increased involvement of established end-user industries is delivering strong interest from fields such as packaging, automotive and consumer electronics“, stated the Chairman of the OE-A, Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer, Head of the Business Unit Functional Coatings at Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH & Co. KG, as he expressed delight about the 200th OE-A member. The OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) was founded in December 2004 and represents the entire value chain of this emerging industry.
