Rialti is set to launch new polypropylene (PP) compounds incorporating recycled content at PRSE.
The new grades contain a mix of post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) content, ranging from 30% to 40% PCR and 20% to 40% PIR.
The materials are designed for structural applications in sectors where material properties are critical. This includes mobility, where they help meet the anticipated End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) targets, as well as industries such as construction, appliances, home, and gardening.
Borealis acquired the Italy-based PP compounder of recyclates in 2023. Operating from its facility in Varese, the company produces up to 50,000 tonnes of mechanically recycled PP compounds annually. The new hybrid PCR/PIR grades complement Borealis’ Borcycle M portfolio, demonstrating the synergies between the two companies in advancing sustainability across all applications.
