In March, the market for standard commodity plastics was characterised by reticent demand. Deliveries to the automotive sector were particularly weak, however, it was also becoming more difficult in the packaging and consumer goods industry, according to market participants.

It was only possible to raise plastic prices because suppliers had throttled production. PE increased the most, PS and PP rose moderately, and PVC generally remained at February levels.
