MUSCAT: Nova Polyclinic, a pioneer in short-stay surgeries, is opening its first polyclinic in Oman on February 10 and a short-stay surgical unit at Al Khuwair later in December this year.

“Nova brings cutting edge medical technology and internationally-trained physicians under one roof to give patients easy access to quality and affordable healthcare,” Suresh Soni, chief executive officer of India-based Nova Polyclinic, told Times of Oman.
Soni said Nova Polyclinic would have a significant number of super-specialists attached to it; a full-fledged pathology lab and very high-end equipment, including digital X-ray and ultrasound.

“In addition, in around ten months, Nova will be establishing Oman’s first surgical centre focused on short-stay surgeries.

However, until such time we will be providing referrals to India’s leading surgeons, who will at a later stage work in our medical centre in Oman,” he said, adding; “Short-stay surgeries take anywhere between 24 and 72 hours from admission to patient discharge and may include day care surgeries in which the patient is discharged within a day. Using minimally invasive techniques to reduce hospitalisation and improve recovery time, Nova Medical Centres have pioneered this unique healthcare delivery model in India.

“The polyclinic will offer the very best in primary care, diagnostics, as well as provide referrals to surgical care outside the country if required.

“To start with, the polyclinic will have general medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, general surgery and gastroenterology, dermatology, orthopaedics, cardiology, ENT, ophthalmology (visiting), plastics and aesthetics (visiting), spine (visiting), bariatric (visiting), urology (visiting) and in vitro fertilization (visiting). It will have about 10-12 full time doctors, and an additional 20 doctors who will be consulting with us on a regular basis.”

In addition to full services for surgical care across all leading specialities, Nova Concierge Service Group will facilitate and coordinate visa approvals, hotels, food of choice and tourism options for patients and those accompanying them.
“All its facilities will be extremely modern, and the employees are well-experienced, and well-trained,” he said.
The Nova Group has its operations in India and the Middle East. “In addition, the group has technology partners in Spain and the USA,” he added.

Nova has 10 surgical centres and four In Vitro fertilisation clinics in India. “We have our centres in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Ahmedabad,” he informed.
