The competition for The Worshipful Company of Horners’ Award for Plastics Design and Innovation, in conjunction with the British Plastics Federation (BPF), is now open for entry until July 24.
Entries must have demonstrated that the product, machine or process entered has significant UK content in design, materials or manufacture and offer commercial potential or success, according to BPF.

“The Horners’ Award is a prestigious accolade with a number of valuable commercial benefits attached. Last year we again saw a record number of entrants all demonstrating high levels of innovation and exemplary creativity in design. The caliber of entrants year-after-year demonstrates its uniqueness and how vital it is to promote all that design in plastics stands for,” said Raymond Layard, the Master of The Horners Company.
The winner of the competition is presented with their Award at The Mansion House during the Annual Banquet of the Worshipful Company of Horners on October 1. The runner up will be presented with the BPF President’s Award at the Federation’s Annual Dinner, which will be held on October 29.
The Horners’ Award is believed to be the longest running Plastics Design Award in the world, being instituted in 1945. Last year’s winner was Propoints with its innovative “self-sealing” obturation points.
