High performance fibers producer Teijin Aramid opens its new office and the Technical Center Asia (TCA) in Shanghai, China. The expansion of the office is a result of close to ten years of consecutive growth of the Twaron brand in China since 2004. Teijin Aramid’s CEO Gert Frederiks and CTO Jan Roos, together with the Vice Mayor of Xuhui district, Bao Binzhang and Huub Buise, Vice Consul of the Dutch Consulate in Shanghai hosted the opening ceremony.
The technical center focuses on all Twaron, Technora and Teijinconex applications and is open for clients to cooperate and test new applications. It offers different kinds of customer support and testing methods for developing new solutions, such as: tensile testing of yarns, cords and textiles, protective testing, textile testing of ballistic fabrics, microscopy, twisting and rewinding of yarns and paper making.“We have been serving the Asian region for a long time with our Twaron product with a small local team and it’s becoming more and more important in our business strategy,” said Gert Frederiks.
“By moving to this new office and opening the Technical Center Asia in Shanghai, we are able to support our customers much better and faster with technical and innovative solutions.”During the opening today many Asian customers attended the lab tour and celebratory banquet that followed. The actual opening was done by Teijin Aramid’s CEO Gert Frederiks and CTO Jan Roos, together with the Vice Mayor of Xuhui district, Mr Bao Binzhang and Mr. Huub Buise, Vice Consul of the Dutch Consulate in Shanghai. Next to customers, also local authorities and representatives of the Dutch consulate were present.
Teijin Aramid is a subsidiary of the Teijin Group and specializes in aramids. Its products Twaron, Sulfron, Teijinconex and Technora can be applied to automotive, ballistic protection, marine, civil engineering, protective clothing, fiber optic cables and oil & gas. The four high performance fibers are produced in the Netherlands and Japan.
