Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, part of the Trelleborg Group based in Sweden, has supplied a sealing system applying specially developed
Turcon PTFE based compound to Guangzhou Tech-Long Packing Machinery Co Ltd for dispensers located in the center of blow molding machines. Turcon Roto Glyd Ring with a unique pressure relieving function was also included in the sealing solution, according to the company’s press release on August 2.
The sealing system within the dispenser needed to operate in 1-4MPa (145-580psi) dry air pressure at rotational speeds of 150mm/s (6″/s) non-stop for 16-20 hours per day.
According to Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, dry air is a difficult medium to seal. To successfully do this the seal must initially demonstrate a very smooth and tight dynamic sealing surface after a short run in. It must then have outstanding wear resistance in poorly lubricated conditions.
