Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd, a converting equipment supplier from the UK, has confirmed that it will be present at the ICE USA 2011 exhibition to be held at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida, the US from April 6-8 this year. ICE USA is an international converting exhibition.
In addition to information on the latest developments in technology for the range of Atlas & Titan slitter rewinders, the company will demonstrate a 1,650mm (65″) wide Titan ER610 compact slitter.
The ER610 is a twin-shaft cantilever slitter and a more environmentally friendly slitting & rewinding solution. It has reduced power but all electric, oil-free operation without hydraulics, a CCD edge-guide camera for reducing waste, a running speed of 450m/min (1,500ft/min) and an option for slit widths as narrow as 35mm (1.37″). With a simple design enabling quick and easy installation, the ER610 has extended the Titan portfolio of slitter rewinders by addressing the needs of converters processing lower volumes of flexible materials.
The Titan ER610 slitter has been a great success with approximately 100 machines now installed worldwide. It is available in two web widths – 1,350mm and 1,650mm (53″ and 65″) – with a maximum rewind diameter of 610mm (24″). It also features a 10″ touch screen control system and an integral edge-trim extraction system. The pneumatically controlled braking system provides accurate web tension control and a digital edge-guide system controls lateral movement of the unwind reel to +/-50mm (2″). Slitting systems available include shear knives, rotary razor (burst) or razor slitting in air or groove. Optional features include a static electricity control system, laser (line) core positioning, EU safety guarding, laser safety scanners and unwind roll loading trolley.
The Titan ER610 slitter will process a wide range of flexible materials including plain, printed, coated or metallized film from 20 to 200 micron, a wide range of laminates and paper from 30gsm to 200gsm.
The Titan range of slitters also includes the very successful SR8 duplex cantilever machine with more than 250 installations worldwide and the CT610 automatic twin-turret slitter designed for very high production volumes. Many of these models are already operational in North America. The Atlas range of secondary slitter rewinders includes the successful CW800 slitter in widths up to approximately 4m (13ft)
Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd, since its MBO (Management buyout) from Bobst Group of Switzerland in October last year, has now established its Charlotte, North Carolina-based subsidiary Atlas Converting North America, Inc. to support its sales and customer service operations throughout North America.
