At the K2010 Trade Fair (International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber), to be held from 27 October to 3 November 2010 in Düsseldorf, Hilma-Römheld GmbH,
an expert in die clamping and die change, will present its latest developments in the field of magnetic clamping for rapid changing of dies leading to considerably reduced machine down-times in the plastic and rubber processing industry.
Among other things, Hilma will present four new models of magnetic clamping plates suitable for different temperatures, special systems for vertical presses and a new control system which meets the maximum requirements in terms of reliability.
Hilma has extended its range of products in the field of magnetic clamping technology including special elements for the processing of plastics at low temperatures and using vertical presses. Four new magnetic clamping plates are designed for working temperatures of up to 80º C, 120º C, 180º C or 230º C. Users can select the technology appropriate to their application and adapted to the requirements of the materials to be processed, whether they are thermoplastics, elastomers, thermosets or rubber. Hilma has developed another magnetic clamping system especially for vertical presses. After approval by the TÜV this system will be presented to the public for the first time at the K Trade Fair.
The new developments allow, like the magnetic clamping systems of the standardized “Clamp & Go” product line presented in 2009, access to the rapidly changing technology at an affordable price. The outstanding feature of Hilma electromagnetic clamping elements is that all non standardized injection molds can be changed rapidly and without any problem. Thanks to the full-surface clamping force applied to the magnetic clamping plates this technique ensures high process security, fewer rejects, and reduced maintenance costs.
Against the background of the new 2006/42/CE machine directive Hilma has revised the control system for its magnetic clamping plates to suit the new regulations. With a performance level adapted to the machine or the press, the new control system makes an effective contribution to minimizing the risk in applications using magnetic clamping technique.
